FTC Academy Skills Coach - Catering & Hospitality

The Opportunity:

This exciting role is to join our academy in a skills coach function. You’ll be responsible for providing industry-leading catering and hospitality education and training, developing people to maintain excellent standards and upskilling the next generation of chefs!.

The Role:

As an Academy Skills Coach, you are the bridge between ambition and achievement. You will deliver outstanding training, learning and assessment practices that empower apprentices to master the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to successfully progress through the business, from the Classroom to the boardroom.

You will act as a dedicated mentor, managing the end-to-end apprenticeship journey and providing the high-level guidance that ensures every learner succeeds.

Please note: This is a fixed-term contract for 6 months


Your Key Responsibilities:

Inspire Excellence: Deliver high-impact training and assessments aligned with national qualification frameworks.

Empower Growth: Provide expert monthly coaching to learners and strategic support to line managers.

Drive Engagement: Keep apprentices motivated and ensure their "Off-the-Job" learning time is protected and productive.

Champion Quality: Conduct robust, developmental reviews that push learners to reach their next milestone.

Innovate: Contribute to the continuous evolution of our training and assessment strategies.

Safeguard: Prioritise and monitor the well-being and safety of every learner in your cohort.

Collaborate: Support the wider Academy Team at industry events and workshops.

About You:

You are a natural communicator and a motivator at heart. You thrive on seeing others succeed and possess the unique ability to build rapport with everyone from entry-level learners to senior stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • A sincere desire to help others develop their skills and progress within the food industry.

  • The energy to inspire learners and keep them focused on their goals.

  • A background in Food or Hospitality that allows you to speak the language of your learners and managers alike.

What You’ll Need:

  • Assessor or teaching qualification.

  • A recognised Catering or Hospitality qualification.

  • A full driver’s license and the ability to travel for site visits.

  • Exceptional time management and solid IT skills.
