The Opportunity
We are looking for a talented and ambitious Bid Writer to join our high-performing and ambitious Business Development team.
In this role, you’ll be the voice of our brand. You will be responsible for generating high-quality, compelling written tender material that articulates the unique benefits of Aspens’ Catering Services to schools and educational trusts across the country. Whether we are pursuing new business or retaining our valued existing clients, your writing will be the key to our success.
This position is a fixed-term contract, covering maternity:
- 40 hours per week
- 52 weeks per year
- £30,000 per annum
Main Responsibilities
Draft Winning Content: Produce high-scoring, persuasive tender responses that clearly articulate the benefits of Aspens’ solution to meet client needs to aid retention.
Strategic Mapping: Storyboard and mark up responses to align with specific win themes, BDM guidance, and tender scoring matrices.
Evidence & Case Studies: Create compelling case studies and testimonials that use proven results to demonstrate our success.
Content Evolution: Regularly review, edit, and refresh the bid library to ensure all pre-existing material is market-leading and high-quality.
Market Intelligence: Actively research industry trends and competitor activity to keep Aspens’ proposals ahead of the curve.
Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Food, and Marketing teams to extract technical info and integrate impactful graphics/infographics.
Project Management: Deliver high-quality, polished submissions within strict deadlines, maintaining a professional and punctual approach.
Confidentiality: Ensure all data and sensitive company information are handled in strict accordance with company policy.
The Ideal Candidate
Educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent) with a proven track record of producing high-scoring written content for competitive tenders.
Experience managing proposal development processes and senior internal stakeholders.
You have an eye for detail, grammar, and tone.
You are open to challenge and thrive in a team environment where work is reviewed and improved collectively.
You have a "can-do" attitude and the flexibility to handle multiple projects simultaneously without losing quality.
PC literate; experience with Adobe InDesign is a significant advantage.
