This exciting new role is to join The Academy in a skills coach function. You’ll be responsible for providing industry leading catering and hospitality education and training, developing our people to maintain excellent standards and upskilling the next generation of chefs!

The Role
As an Academy Skills Coach you will be required to deliver outstanding training, learning
and assessment practices that engage and inspire apprentices to fulfil their potential and
develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours to successfully progress through the business, from the Classroom to Boardroom.

The Academy Skills Coach is responsible for working with learners, delivering all aspects of the apprenticeship and other related qualifications to ensure successful completion, whilst providing exceptional support and guidance.

Your main responsibilities as an Academy Skills Coach will involve:

  • Delivering training and assessing learning in line with standards and qualification frameworks
  • Providing excellent support to both learners and line managers
  • Ensuring learners and line managers are engaged and stay motivated
  • Ensuring reviews are robust and developmental
  • Ensuring learner’s Off the Job time is maintained
  • Continuous improvement of training and assessment strategies
  • Providing and monitoring the effective safeguarding, well-being and support arrangements for learners
  • Supporting the Academy Team where required

You will have effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the business. You must be enthusiastic and motivated in order to inspire others to achieve and succeed. You will have a keen interest in the food industry and supporting others to develop and progress.

Essential:
  • Assessor or teaching qualification
  • Skilled culinary / food industry professional
  • Driver and able to travel

Desirable:
  • Culinary / food industry qualification
  • Knowledge of the education sector
  • Effective time management skills
  • Good IT skills
