This exciting role is to join The Academy in a functional skills coach function. You’ll be
responsible for providing maths education and training, developing our people to gain
qualifications and maintain excellent standards.

The Role
As an Academy Functional Skills Coach, you will be required to deliver outstanding training, learning and assessment practices that engage and inspire learners to fulfil their potential and develop the knowledge and skills to successfully progress through the business, from the classroom to boardroom.

The Academy Functional Skills Coach is responsible for working with learners, delivering all aspects of the Maths Functional Skills curriculum and other related learning to ensure
successful completion of their qualifications, whilst providing exceptional support and
guidance.

The role is 22.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, £18,500-£21,000 per annum

Your main responsibilities as an Academy Functional Skills Coach will involve:

  • Delivering individualised and group training and assessments in line with qualification frameworks
  • Ensuring that learners are accessing and benefiting from e-learning through BKSB
  • Providing excellent support to learners and the team
  • Ensuring learners are engaged and stay motivated
  • Ensuring coaching sessions are robust and developmental
  • Continuous improvement of training and assessment strategies
  • Providing and monitoring the effective safeguarding, well-being and support arrangements for learners
  • Collaborating with The Academy team where required

Essential:
  • Functional Skills Qualifications in English and Maths / Equivalent
  • Assessor award qualification/teaching qualification
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent communication
  • Excellent time management
  • Prepared to be flexible to the needs of learners
