Onboarding Manager 


As HR Onboarding Manager, you will be responsible for managing and implementing best practice processes and compliance throughout the onboarding process.


The main purpose of this role is to ensure effective and efficient HR onboarding processes are followed within the HRSC function whilst also providing an excellent administration and HR support service.


This is an exciting time to join the business as we continue to transform our service and look to embed our processes through the use of our new systems. You will work closely with the HR team to continue the embedding and promoting of best practice.


Key responsibilities


  • To ensure the smooth running of compliance within the business and to provide guidance that is in line with relevant policies and legislation

  • Escalate compliance issues with serious business or legal risks to senior members of the HR team, to ensure business risk is reduced and potential issues are managed.

  • You will work closely with the HR Compliance and Administration Manager to ensure that performance targets are met with regards to compliance and provide a monthly compliance dashboard for reporting purposes covering HR onboarding areas.

  • Ensure right to work checks for new starters are managed, ensuring satisfactory

  • documentation has been provided and cases managed until necessary documentation has been provided.

  • Ensure RTW risks remain low by processing monthly reports and ensuring those with expired document are renewed and any issues escalated to HR Advisors/HRBPs

  • Ensure DBS are processed and renewed where required.

  • Ensure all other vetting requirements (e.g. Reference checks) are chased, processed and recorded

  • Maintain accurate compliance records and tracking tools, ensuring manual and electronic records are kept up to date to ensure accurate reporting

  • Ensure all hard and soft copy personnel records are maintained and secure, complying with obligations under the Data Protection Act and segment specific requirements

  • Provide hands on support to other HR Services Teams when required e.g. at peak times, ad hoc projects.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience of working within a similar environment is desirable.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and be professional at all times

  • Experience in using HR Information Systems.

  • Experience of managing compliance aspects

  • Be flexible, with a ‘can-do’ approach

  • Customer focused with excellent service skills

  • CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential. We are an Employer provider of apprenticeships and are able to support you in your development if you so wish.
