The Role:

We are seeking a driven and dynamic Management Accountant to join Finance Department. This role is a 12 month fixed contract to cover maternity, 37.5 hours a week, 52 weeks per year.

The ideal candidate will have three years practical experience in preparing accurate and timely management accounts. To be a key support to the Operations team with any financial, analytical reporting requirements, and to ensure the balance sheet is fully reconciled for all associated companies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of balance sheet control accounts, including assets, prepayments,
     accruals and discounts.
  • Posting monthly journals as required
  • Reconciling of data transferred between operating systems and uploading onto
     SAP financial system
  • Oversee monthly Review and Approve process supporting operations with
     invoice sign off
  • Prepare and review Profit & Loss and send to the Commercial Controller with
     commentary on material variances
  • Prepare monthly analytics for top/bottom 5 units including comparison to prior
     periods
  • Support the Commercial Controller in developing a robust budget and
     forecasting process
  • Ad hoc reporting requirements required by internal management
  • Assist with annual audit
  • Provide finance training to new managers and refresher training for existing staff and support in the finance training of unit staff
  • Responding to queries via email and telephone in a timely manner
  • Supporting the wider finance department by aiding with any reasonable request

About you:

The ideal candidate will be able to adapt easily to a dynamic environment, the
associated companies are continually diversifying and the ability embrace change is essential. The willingness to take ownership and responsibility for one’s own workload is key, particularly whilst working with other teams within the finance function to aid the financial process from start to finish. Formatting and reconciling large amounts of data in Excel is integral to this position.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Minimum of three year’s practical experience
  • Experience in reconciling multiple systems
  • The capacity to deal with different business models
  • Actively studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification
  • Effective time management and a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Good analytical skill and attention to detail
  • Works well as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Flexible and adaptable to take on a variety of tasks
